The figure above is an example of an irrigation system that uses PVC pipes with a pair of wires embedded in the pipe.
The line in the center of each pipe and adapter represents a wire pair.
The Tee, Elbow, and Cross adapters all continue both the water paths and the electrical circuits.
Only a single PVC topology is needed. The wires are protected from damage by being embedded in the walls of the pipe.
Rechargeable batteries can be used at each valve to power the opening and closing of the valve, and to power the electronics
that support the data network devices at the valve. The state of each battery can be read by the network, and one or more batteries can be given
priority "trickle charging".
